Rumor: RIM To Announce BlackBerry Manufacturing Plant in Brazil Tomorrow?

BlackBerry-curve-8520 I don’t know much about the Brazil or Latin America BlackBerry market but Miguel pointed me to a source that claims RIM will be announcing a new manufacturing plant there tomorrow. BlackBerry World Br claims that RIM reached an agreement with Flextronics in Brazil to start manufacturing devices in Sao Paulo. This would expand RIM’s operations outside of Canada and Mexico and could be an solid move for RIM.

The first device to be made in Brazil will be the BlackBerry Curve 8520 which is a starter BlackBerry with a low cost. It should be interesting to see if this rumor pans out…
