Personally I had never heard of Quintessentially before but they claim to be the “world’s leading private members’ club and concierge service.” They just announced the release of their free BlackBerry city guide app that gives you access to their recommended hot spots from your device. They already have an iPhone version that is doing pretty well so I guess they are hoping for similar success on the BlackBerry platform. The app gives you access to their recommended openings, new venues, and must see locations.

Over the years I have been trying to convert developers to the BlackBerry platform. One of the main issues was the lack of a book or guide on how to develop for the BlackBerry OS. I know that most of the J2ME books also work for the BlackBerry OS but they are not specific and do not really go into the features & issues exclusive to the BlackBerry. For example, how to setup a stable connection to the internet.
