Innocell 1650 Mah Extended Life Battery – $49.95 (Coming soon)
- 1650mAh – Up to 15% more capacity than the original
- Fits in existing space so no replacement door is needed

Jose at BEtwitxr let me know about a free twitxr client they have released for the BlackBerry. In case you don’t remember twitxr you can read our description when we mentioned it early last month. BEtwitxr will allow you to share pictures you have taken from your BlackBerry. It lets you detail the place where you took them and include a description of what you were doing at that moment. Then via twitxr you will be able to publish them onto your favorite social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr and Picasa.

Right now the app is in beta and is available for the 8100, 8300, & 8800 series devices running OS 4.2+. Check out the product page at this link.
To install follow these links from your device:
8100 OTA install | 8300 and 8800 OTA install
BEtwitxr Desktop Manager 8100 | BEtwitxr Desktop Manager 8300 and 8800
Let us know what you think!
Thanks Josep for letting me know about the App before but back then it did not have an English Translation of the description.

Best Western has also just joined the UsableNet bandwagon by having them develop a mobile friendly version of their site. I’m impressed that they claim they can do such a thing in less than 6 weeks. I just stayed at a Best Western up in Boston last month and they are a pretty good budget hotel chain.
The new mobile Best Western gives you practically all the important portions of the desktop version including:
- Reserving a room
- Checking the status of a reservation
- Get directions and more
Check it out by going to www.bestwestern.com from your Berry’s browser. You may need to set your browser emulation to “BlackBerry” to get it to redirect correctly.

Nick let me know about this very easy to use free service that lets you create your own mobile website free. You can even take your RSS feed from your blog or twitter and make it automatically publish it into a mobile page. They also offer you some free analytics to see how many people are visiting your site.
Essentially it lets you create multiple mobile pages on your site with images and a table of contents. Nothing crazy but a great way to store all of your favorite bookmarks and other useful links.
Check it out at www.wirenode.com

OK boys, this one’s for you. The perfect combination of cool, space age ‘metalized’ graphics with the power of animated icons that – from what I can tell from the video – seem to fade in and out as you move the trackball about. Never fear though, as a video (see link below) is available for you to see this theme in action for yourself. As far as it being use customizable, according to Elecite ‘Only Bottom 5 (large) icons are NOT locked. The rest, cannot be changed.‘ However, this theme is definitely one-of-a-kind in execution and design. Available for 9000 Blackberry devices, Jet Fighter costs $6.99 and can be purchased here at Elecite.Com.

The guys at Gizmodo spotted that Virgin America is starting a beta of WiFi on their planes starting Nov 22nd. After that they will be rolling out WiFi to all their planes at a rate of one a week. They are planning on being done early 2010. No word on cost yet though but this would make them the first carrier to have WiFi on all their planes.
I think this could really make WiFi on my Bold a lot more useful. I wonder if T-Mobile UMA will work? Though this is really going to start looking bad for the WiFi-less Storm…

TechCrunch did an interview with Ralph De La Vega @ AT&T yesterday and came out with some interesting information. Barrons does a great job of summing it up. Ralph claims that the Bold is selling out in most stores which jives with what we are hearing from BizJournals. He personally carries both a iPhone and a Bold since he also sees the need for a keyboard. Ralph does mention that the amount of iPhone customers is comparable to BlackBerry customers which is impressive.
MobileCrunch also pointed out that AT&T mixes well with WiFi. They just bought hotspot operator Wayport for $275 million which extends their coverage. Wayport includes locations such as McDonalds, Four Seasons, Marriott, and others. That is a nice addition to the Starbucks offering they have. Not to mention that the Bold and soon other BlackBerry models are starting to get the free WiFi treatment at those shops.
I guess WiFi is nice but I would rather a faster 3G backbone…

AutoStandby is a simple application that automatically puts your phone into a power saving standby mode after a certain amount of time. Personally I am a big fan of the application so I was happy when I head that they just updated the application with more features. The change log is below:
- Flexible delay value. Enter the number of seconds you want AutoStandby to wait.
- Exclusion list. Now you can customize which applications you want to prevent AutoStandby from activating.
- Choose between Standby mode, Lock mode, or both!
- Streamlined options and online help document now make it easier than ever to use.
- Enhancements for OS 4.6. (Bold)
- Improved AutoStandby “algorithm”
- Fixed Welcome screen reappearing issue
- Renamed “Excluded Apps” to “Disabling Rules”
- Allow visibility of disabling app rules that are selected but not necessarily running
- Apps that run at startup are not able to be selected from the rule list.
- As always, a free upgrade for existing owners.
You can pick up the update or purchase the application in the store at this link.
Thanks Tom for sending this one in!
